The concept of the Joy Shoppe came from our own need in the praise and worship dance ministry to find suitable instruction, attire, and tools to progress with excellence. The business organically grew from the Joy Ministry as an extension of sharing with others the resources we found from other ministries as well as our own. We were, in fact, one of the first online Christian dance stores of which many other ministries and businesses emulated. JoyShoppe.com is one of our full-time businesses in the ministry. We are located in Fayetteville, Northwest Arkansas.

 

In 1995 our catalog was a simple text list of items in a small print catalog. A few short months thereafter we purchased our first computer and the Internet was introduced to us by a family member who had begun a site called King's Corner. We put our text catalog on King's Corner and we were amazed by the response. We won several awards for that site which encouraged us greatly. We updated the cart to include pictures and accept credit card payments and the business boomed serving over a thousand customers. Nearly a year later we upgraded to a fully integrated and secure shopping cart, which has continually been updated through the years. We have supplied commercial corporations, including Disney, many small businesses, ministries, and thousands of individuals.

 

In the spring of 2001 we opened a store front in Northwest Arkansas, yet closed later that fall due to 9/11 and seeing that the bulk of our business was online. We offered a full print catalog for mail order for a very short period of time. Due to printing, shipping, and editing costs against actual mail orders that came in, we decided it was not prudent to keep that department going and save some trees in the process. We offer a praise garment catalog for download and we accept orders over the phone, by fax, and by mail. Through the years, we have developed good business and ministry relationships whereby we offer a unique network to meet the needs of our customers.

 

Joy Ministry & Conference "I've Got The Joy!"
The Joy Conference and The Joy Shopped worked hand in hand to bring about this tremendous worship event. When the conference began, The Joy Shoppe, was one of the only vendors offering a full line of praise and worship items including Judaica. We purposely decided to downsize the Joy Shoppe to give us more time for ministry and to offer more opportunity for others at the event. We now host many ministries and vendors in the area of the creative arts and sacred expression. Shop our store front at the event and stock up on praise & worship tools.

 

WorshipGarments.com (JoyShoppe.com)
A couple years into the business we began producing a basic worship garment line along with prophetic overlays that had Scriptural and spiritual significance such as Daniel's Stars [Dan. 12:3] and Robes of Righteousness [Is. 61]. The garments were very popular and the overlays were a huge success along with our unique Scripture streamers and flags. Some of the material we used were rare and no longer manufactured, which caused us to stop making Daniel's Stars. These are now a collectors item due to the fact that under 500 were made.

 

A season of change came for us and we realized that we no longer wanted to be a manufacture of garments due to ministry demands. We knew that God was leading us in a fresh direction. We tried just about all of the manufacturers of garments and concluded our search with Church Street Wear™ which met high standards. We know that garments are holy (set apart) for ministry and are to be anointed of God and sanctified for His service. We also know that garments need to be modest as well as made to fit normal bodies with curves. We needed the garments to be washable, breathable, and made strong so they would stand the test of time.

 

We do not offer dancewear made by secular companies who are "getting a piece of the praise and worship market." and do not truly understand the community's needs. For us, it is all about the satisfaction and contribution we are making to the praise dance community by birthing garments straight from the heart of God to you- His royal priesthood. Many of those assembly-line garments do not meet the quality, modesty, and spiritual significance standards of the discerning worshiper. We offer you the best we have to offer because we know you are offering your best to God.

 

We do not participate or encourage the cloning of anyone's spiritual birthing. We believe our community should respect the Originator of Creative Design and His stewards who are able to share that with the world with integrity.

 

Tambourine Necklace
Our ministry really bloomed with the tambourine and dance, so much so that at the request of Wendy Campbell, a tambourine necklace was developed for JoyShoppe.com. Wendy found a rare antique tambourine necklace, which inspired the making of new necklaces for this century. We hope that our tambourine necklaces will remain an emblem of victory today and in the future. This gift is a collector's item.

 

Streamers
We developed a line of "Scripture Streamers" which are made with meaning such as New Heart, Holy Fire, Covenant, and Tabernacle. However, due to ministry demands and the time we spent in producing these, we have decided to set this department aside until further notice. We continue to make metallic fringe tassels and produce items for corporate orders.

Ministry Resources
We offer several books, DVDs, and products produced in-house as well as from other ministries. Among such products are books such as "Streamers in the Desert," The Tambourine and Dance Ministry" and "Ambassador." As founder of Joy Ministry, Wendy Campbell developed the first method for using streamers or rhythmic ribbons in dance choreography. The book and DVD give ample instruction in this art. Wendy's tambourine pattern book and video offers new and original choreography using the modern method developed by Magrate Yap.
